Permaculture Design

Permaculture design involves a careful and thoughtful process of meeting human needs while enhancing and improving our environment. The permaculture approach assembles plants, animals and structures on the land in an ecologically efficient way.

The outcome? An abundance of yield while conserving resources such as soil, organic matter and water – AND happier humans living in a place of natural beauty!

Over the last 30 years, I have nurtured gardens in all the various places I have lived, and I’ve studied permaculture, soil science, chemistry and waste management through my career. Having finally put my roots down permanently on Pender Island BC, I am putting it all into practice, guided by Geoff Lawton’s Permaculture Design Course, and the daily practice of observing nature.

I will happily work with you to design an edible landscape for your home, based on permaculture principles. My specialty is to design plant “guilds” so that the right species are combined to support and enhance each other’s success, while meeting your food production needs.
